Carmines at Candleworks

It is a mainstay of ours, but I just have to say I love Carmines so much!! The new menu is awesome, specifically, we are loving the farm pizza!! we are barflies and love seeing our friends there, I highly recommend this place to everyone we need and will continue to come back frequently :) Such a great atmosphere, consistently fantastic food, and awesome service 💕

Juliette was our server and she was amazing! We started off with a dynamite espresso martini ! My husband had the Buzzards Bay golden flounder. Came with some homemade bread with oil & fresh roasted garlic. Zuppa Toscana soup was delicious, arugula salad with cranberries, almonds & all sorts of delicious goodies with a light dressing and 10 grilled shrimp outstanding!! Hubby got the fig arugula flatbread. Everything was amazing! Looking forward to coming back for dinner. Rachel

It was packed at 12:30 pm on a Sunday. Online it said they served lunch and brunch, but they don't serve lunch until 3:30 on Sundays. So you only have the option of a brunch buffet. The food was pretty awful. The drinks weren't good. The service was not good. If you are a party of one you are only allowed to sit at the bar. Do not recommend. Maybe dinner is better.

It would have been my first time here but unfortunately the staff couldn't deliver due to a lack of communication. A reservation was made for nine and was told by the hostess that everything was all set. Confirmed our time and contact information. Fast forward to the time we were supposed to check in and no one knows anything and did not see a reservation. The manager said that we could not have made the reservation because the hostess must check with management prior to scheduling a reservation with this amount of people. She then realized and remembered that we did. I will say that she did make an effort to accommodate but the time was not acceptable for dinner. Communication needs to improve and maybe go the extra mile and contact people who make reservations the day of to confirm. I figured seeing this is a "high class" restaurant they would have their act together but I have to remember and I did forget this is New Bedford and shouldn't have gotten our hopes up. Captains Place ultimately accommodated us and the food was decent. Maybe in the future I'll make one more attempt to dine at Carmines we'll see I don't want to get my hopes up.
